The Founder’s Story
A Disruption That Became a Realization
After 35+ years leading ERP, CRM, and analytics transformations, I thought I had seen every pattern in the industry. But when my career took an unexpected turn, I found myself with something I hadn’t had in decades: space to think.
I used that time to take an MIT AI program that opened my eyes to how quickly AI autonomy was accelerating — and how unprepared most enterprises were to govern it.
That reflection surfaced a truth I had lived for decades:
Every stakeholder in a transformation had a system — except the Sponsor.
Vendors had methodologies.
Implementers had playbooks.
PMs had tools.
Sponsors — the people accountable for the investment — had nothing.
And the consequences were predictable: repeated guidance, forgotten decisions, misalignment, and drift.
The Sponsor-side gap wasn’t a people problem — it was a missing-system problem.
The Insights That Made the Sponsor-Side Gap Clear
During COVID, Zoom recordings revealed something important: client teams rewatched them, but Sponsors never did. They didn’t have the time, and they weren’t deep enough in the delivery work to scrub through an hour‑long call to find the one critical insight they needed. Long, unedited recordings were simply too much — too hard to navigate, too hard to extract value from, and too disconnected from the way Sponsors actually work.

At the same time, I saw clients hiring third‑party advisors to fill the Sponsor‑side gap — and I knew I could do that work. But I also knew the traditional model wasn’t enough.

So instead of building a traditional advisory firm, I decided to build something new.

The Architecture Takes Shape
Drawing on decades of transformation experience and new AI training, I began designing an intelligent agent — a Business‑Side Deterministic Process Intelligence Agent (PIA) — that could guide Sponsors through every phase of transformation with clarity, structure, and governed autonomy.
As the early prototypes took shape, I realized the pattern extended far beyond ERP, CRM, and analytics. The same approach could help any leader govern AI autonomy and keep their organization aligned.
That insight became the Deterministic Process Intelligence Architecture, and its first and flagship implementation became the Sponsor-Side Operating System (SSOS Agent), the governed Architecture and Execution Model for enterprise transformation.
A Collaboration That Completed the System
Around the same time, fate intervened.
My youngest son — a film director and producer — was between projects. The film industry was being reshaped by AI just as dramatically as consulting.
We decided to team up, combining his mastery of micro‑video with my architecture.
The Agent provides the reasoning; the Bearings video system provides the clarity — two complementary components of one unified system.
This pairing became the foundation of a human‑aligned approach to AI‑enabled transformation.
It proved that clarity is as important as intelligence.
A Purpose That Runs Deeper Than Technology
As I watched AI’s impact on my own family, my extended family, and society at large, the work took on a deeper urgency. I wrote the Manifesto to articulate the stakes — and the path forward.
