Executive Advisory Blocks

Live Expert Sponsor-Side Advisory Services

On-demand Sponsor-Side leadership for incremental needs, unplanned moments, emerging risks, and high-stakes decisions.

Executive Advisory Blocks provide direct access to experienced transformation leadership when Sponsors encounter questions, decisions, or conditions that fall outside the boundaries of an active engagement. They are intentionally flexible, rapidly activated, and focused entirely on Sponsor-Side guidance rather than execution.

Transformation Programs rarely proceed exactly as planned. New information emerges. Risks escalate. Partners introduce unexpected recommendations. A major meeting appears on the calendar. Leadership alignment becomes necessary. A change order arrives that was not anticipated. Executive Advisory Blocks provide Sponsors with a simple way to obtain independent guidance precisely when those moments occur.

This is Sponsor-Side leadership on demand.

What Advisory Blocks Are

Executive Advisory Blocks are fixed-fee blocks of live advisory support delivered directly by Alentra leadership.

Unlike a traditional consulting engagement, Executive Advisory Blocks are not built around predefined scopes, workplans, or deliverables. Each Block is activated in response to a specific Sponsor need and is tailored to the circumstances at hand.

Some Sponsors use Advisory Blocks to evaluate a difficult decision. Others use them to assess a change order, prepare for an executive meeting, evaluate partner recommendations, review transformation risks, or determine how to respond to an emerging issue.

The defining characteristic is flexibility. The Block is scoped at the moment of need rather than being constrained by assumptions made weeks or months earlier.

Executive Advisory Blocks are leadership support only. They are not staff augmentation, project management labor, execution support, or outsourced operational work.

Why Advisory Blocks Matter

Every Transformation Program experiences moments that do not fit neatly within a planned engagement structure.

A new risk may emerge unexpectedly. Internal stakeholders may become misaligned. An implementation partner may recommend a significant change in direction. Program assumptions may need to be reevaluated. Executive leadership may require an independent perspective before authorizing a major decision.

Without a structured way to address these moments, organizations often experience delayed decisions, Sponsor Intent drift, escalating uncertainty, avoidable change orders, and increasing dependence on partner-generated narratives.

Executive Advisory Blocks provide a clean and predictable mechanism for addressing these situations without requiring changes to existing Statements of Work or expansion of ongoing engagements.

They allow Sponsors to access experienced transformation leadership at the precise moment additional judgment, perspective, or governance support is required.

How Executive Advisory Blocks Work

Executive Advisory Blocks are delivered as fixed-fee units of live advisory support.

When a Sponsor identifies a need, the Block is activated and focused on the specific issue at hand. The scope is defined by the situation rather than by a predefined service package.

Depending on the circumstances, a Block may be used to evaluate transformation strategy questions, review governance concerns, assess implementation conditions, prepare for Steering Committee discussions, evaluate partner recommendations, analyze risks, or provide executive-level guidance regarding Sponsor Intent, Solution Selection, value realization, or operational governance.

The objective is always the same: provide Sponsors with clarity, confidence, and defensible decision support when they need it most.

Executive Advisory Blocks do not introduce a separate methodology, governance model, or Sponsor Intent lifecycle. They provide experienced human judgment within the Sponsor-Side operating model established by The CFO-TA and the Alentra Transformation Methodology.

What Sponsors Receive

Because Executive Advisory Blocks are driven by real-world situations rather than predefined scopes, there are no standard deliverables.

Instead, each engagement produces whatever guidance, analysis, framing, evaluation, preparation, or executive insight is required to address the Sponsor's immediate need.

Depending on the situation, outcomes may include decision support, governance guidance, risk assessment, executive briefing preparation, Sponsor Intent evaluation, implementation partner recommendation assessment, change order analysis, leadership alignment support, or strategic recommendations.

Every Advisory Block is tailored to the specific circumstances being addressed.

The objective is not to produce consulting volume. It is to help the Sponsor understand the situation, evaluate the available evidence and trade-offs, preserve authority over the decision, and determine a defensible path forward.

Delivery Experience

Executive Advisory Blocks are delivered exclusively as live advisory engagements.

Sponsors receive direct access to experienced transformation leadership, independent perspective, structured thinking, and practical guidance focused on the issue at hand.

The intent is not to create additional layers of process. The intent is to provide rapid access to informed judgment when important decisions must be made.

Because Advisory Blocks are delivered independently of implementation vendors, software providers, and delivery organizations, the guidance remains focused on the interests of the Sponsor rather than the interests of any delivery participant.

When Sponsors Typically Use Executive Advisory Blocks

Sponsors commonly activate Executive Advisory Blocks when a new decision emerges that requires additional analysis or independent judgment.

They are frequently used when risks escalate, timelines shift, executive meetings approach, partner recommendations require evaluation, organizational alignment becomes difficult, change orders appear unexpectedly, governance concerns surface, Sponsor Intent questions arise, or significant transformation decisions need to be made under pressure.

Executive Advisory Blocks are particularly valuable when the Sponsor wants an experienced independent perspective before deciding how to proceed.

They can also support consequential moments across vendor demonstrations, Solution Selection, procurement, contracting, implementation, value realization, ongoing operations, major AI deployments, and changes that may materially affect approved Sponsor Intent.

Boundaries and Exclusions

Executive Advisory Blocks are intentionally focused on Sponsor-Side advisory support.

They do not include project management services, execution labor, system configuration, defect resolution, data remediation, software implementation activities, organizational change management work, partner management responsibilities, or operational task execution.

These boundaries ensure the service remains focused on what it is intended to provide: executive judgment, independent perspective, governance support, and decision clarity.

Implementation partners remain responsible for designing, configuring, integrating, testing, and deploying the selected solution. Operational functions remain responsible for running business processes and controls. Sponsors and Business-Side leaders retain authority over Sponsor Intent, priorities, boundaries, accountability, exceptions, evidence expectations, and authorization decisions. Executive Advisory Blocks support that authority without transferring execution responsibility to Alentra.

How Executive Advisory Blocks Fit Within The CFO-TA

Executive Advisory Blocks are the human advisory layer that complements The CFO-TA.

The CFO-TA is the Executive Sponsor Platform. It is a Business-Side platform purpose-built for Executive Sponsors responsible for major transformation investments. The platform helps Executive Sponsors govern their three Sponsor-owned responsibilities: Business Intent, Scope Intent, and Transformation Approach Intent. Together these form Sponsor Intent, the Executive Sponsor-owned expression of purpose and foundation of the Transformation Definition. Executive Advisory Blocks provide direct access to experienced human judgment when interpretation, executive posture, organizational dynamics, commercial pressure, or high-stakes decisions benefit from live Sponsor-Side advisory support.

They complement every lifecycle offering, including Transformation Strategy, Solution Selection, Govern Implementation, Prove Outcomes, Sustain Intent, and Transformation Accelerators.

Executive Advisory Blocks also complement Leadership Signals (Micro-Videos). Leadership Signals provide embedded text and micro-video Sponsor guidance at consequential decision points, readiness gates, phase transitions, and pressure moments. Executive Advisory Blocks provide live, situation-specific guidance when the Sponsor needs direct discussion, challenge, interpretation, or independent executive perspective.

They do not replace the structured governance model. They reinforce it by providing experienced human guidance precisely when it matters most.

The Executive Sponsor governs the loop.

Why Sponsors Continue Using Advisory Blocks

Many of the most important transformation moments occur between formal deliverables, between governance events, and between major lifecycle activities.

A Sponsor may understand the methodology, possess strong governance structures, and still encounter situations where an experienced independent advisor adds significant value.

Executive Advisory Blocks provide a practical mechanism for obtaining that support without launching a new engagement, expanding scope, or introducing unnecessary complexity.

The result is greater confidence, stronger governance discipline, improved executive decision-making, and better protection of approved Sponsor Intent.

They help Sponsors maintain the authority, clarity, and experienced judgment needed to keep leadership intent connected to operational reality when an unplanned moment could otherwise introduce a new interpretation, weaken a boundary, or reshape an authorized outcome.
